It's Monday March 11th
It's Monday - which means it's time again to share my weekly reading!
Thanks to Jen and Kellee at Teach Mentor Texts for hosting this each week.
Another week of Slicing each day = another week of limited reading time. It's been great, though. I've loved my slice challenge, and I feel like I have more ideas this year than I did last year. I know I can do it!
Anyway - here's what I finished this week:
ONE - count it - ONE novel.
Splintered had an excellent beginning - with lots of Wonderland connections. I thought it lagged a bit in the middle, as the romance and Alyss' boy stresses became more important. Overall, more Wonderland and less angst and I would love loved it. As it was, I did enjoy it and I think it will appeal strongly to teen readers.
I'm currently:
almost done Freakling - a MG science fiction that caught my eye while at the library a few weeks ago.
listening to The Handmaid's Tale - I can't believe I never read this one!
Check out my eclectic mix of posts this past week.
The Places He'll Go (my son's crossing over ceremony in Cub Scouts)
Tuesday - Treat Tuesday and A Family Affair (discussing how I get my boys involved in my book blog memes!)
Wednesday - Creativity and Community
Thursday - New to Who Part Two!
Friday - Review of George's Secret Key to the Universe (science and science fiction blended)
Saturday - Promises, Promises (poetry!)
Sunday - The Joy of Planning (a trip!)
