It's Monday - October 21st
Oh, my poor neglected little blog! It's been almost 2 weeks since I posted any new content. It's been a busy season. Between Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, robotics club, and various work commitments - I feel like I am spending my fall in a constant state of "oh, what did I forget?"
(Don't forget to go visit Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers to visit other blogs participating in the weekly It's Monday" theme!)
My reading life isn't managing well - but I did finish a few picture books this week!
Two Jane Yolen books - both lovely but didn't really "wow" me.
Two Timothy Young books that are PERFECT for this spooky holiday season! I recently won the contest for I Hate Picture Books - Young's newest book - and met Timothy on Sunday evening to receive the SIXTEEN books I won! I got signed copies of all four of his books, and signed copies of TWELVE books that appear in I Hate Picture Books.
The other completed book was Daisy Kutter: The Last Train. I backed the Kickstarter to get this printed, and finally got a chance to read them. Definitely wonderful - definitely more YA than MG (language, mostly). I got several copies, so maybe I'll run a contest on the blog to give away one of the signed copies later this year.
Currently Reading:
I was in a bit of a book slump, but I do have several books that are working on pulling me back out of it.
Hopefully I'll have at least one or two of these gems finished by next week, so I can share my thoughts!
I'm also working on planning out blog posts for November, as I'll be participating in a Sci Fi Month and co-hosting a WEEK LONG celebration of Doctor Who in conjunction with Karen Teen Library Toolbox leading up to the 50th anniversary episode.
