A quick shot today - showcasing two rereads that I hope everyone has a chance to read (or read again!) 

Both of these are books I'm currently discussing with small groups in my classroom.

The Phantom Tollbooth - a classic tale of a bored child, a new adventure, and amazing language. If you want a FUN way to introduce or reinforce multiple meaning words, idioms, or allegory - Juster has you covered.

Stargirl - I always read this one with fifth grade. It's an easy read for them, but it's the perfect way to begin to talk about conformity and peer pressure before they leave me for middle school. I may write up a full post about how I use this book, since I had a few discussions on Twitter about it.

Welcome, my friends, to my first ever GUEST POST! My fabulous school librarian (aka @ReaderRoberts ) decided to hold a parent's book club this year, to give parents ideas for getting kids reading. This past week she held the inaugural session, with a  "summer reading"  focus.
