Poem 4 - Happiness

(Okay, I'm not as thrilled with this one, but I am dedicated to getting up a poem each day. Again, I'm using the visual prompts on Bud the Teacher's site. He's posting one each day in April to celebrate Poetry Month. Today's prompt was an image of a little girl's hoodie.)

Some days joy shines out from within me.
Wide grin, bright eyes, and a skip in my step
Take no effort at all.

Then there are the other days…

Days when I must gird myself with happiness
Slipping into it like a colorful hoodie
Concealing other emotions
Behind its luminous armor
